All applicants MUST be 16 years of age or older.
All applicants must indicate on their application the date they are available to start work and the date they anticipate leaving work.
First consideration for employment will be given to those applicants who are available to work the ENTIRE SEASON.
We require a minimum of two references with phone numbers or addresses for each applicant. Applications must be filled out completely to be eligible for consideration.

Scheduling - Whenever possible, you will be scheduled 2 days off per week.
WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS are our busiest times and all employees must be able to work these days. Requests for particular days off will be given when business permits.

Identification - All employees MUST present proper identification prior to beginning work. Two forms of identification are required. Social Security Cards have to be verified and are required.

Criminal Background Checks - Applicant’s appointment to a position will be contingent upon receiving satisfactory results from a Criminal Background Check prior to entrance on duty.

OTHER INFORMATION

Location – Shenandoah National Park is located in the northern Virginia approximately 100 miles southwest of Washington,D.C. The Skyline Drive runs 105 miles through the middle of the park and connects at its south end to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The northern end of the park begins at Front Royal, Virginia and runs 105 miles to the southern tip in Waynesboro, Virginia. The park is a mountain area with many scenic overlooks of the Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains and offers hiking, backpacking, camping, birding, picnicking, nature walks, ranger interpretive programs, etc.

Transportation – You are responsible for your own transportation to the park. The closest airport is Washington/Dulles, the closest bus station is Charlottesville, VA. The closest Amtrak station is in Culpeper, VA.

Housing – Limited amount of housing is available. Dormitory style rooms are available from $15 to $40 a week, depending on the number sharing a room. Children and pets are not permitted in employee housing.
ARAMARK is not liable for any of your personal property. Periodic dormitory inspections will be conducted by the National Park Service and ARAMARK.

Laundry facilities – Available for “live-in” residents at no charge.

Wages – Wages are based on the position for which you are hired. We offer competitive wages based on your experience and skills required by the position. Because we are a seasonal employer, we do not pay overtime until after 56 hours per week. Paychecks are issued weekly. Your hourly wage will be established when you are hired.

Meals – We have a special employee meals “pay as you go” program ranging in price from $4.00 - $5.00 ($8.00 a la carte). There are no cooking facilities available for employee use but microwave ovens and dorm size refrigerators are permitted in the dormitories.
